Neocate and trace Salt

Hi mums! I am living in HongKong. My 6 months old has been on Neocate since 3 months old due to milk allergy. Recently I heard from one friend that Neocate contains trace salt, and in North America if the infant is on Neocate the doctor will require the baby's kidney to be checked every two weeks because of the potential harm that trace salt will bring to the kidneys. But I asked my doctor who suggested us the Neocate and he said he'd never heard of this. Has any mum with baby on Neocate know anything about this? Many thanks!

Paed never mentioned it to me, but we didn't actually open the packet anyway. I've googled and couldn't find anything - it's on no added salt lists in the States.

Hi bobby... thanks for your reply. But can you read the ingredient label on the tin? I saw sodium chloride on mine. I checked the label after what my friend told me. I also googled and did not find anything. How do you mean by "it's on no added salt lists in the States"?

Just one of the google links that I got when I typed in "neocate salt".

I'm now wondering is there is salt in breastmilk and normal formula.
