Hi

I am new to mumsnet and think I have looked through proerly but haven't found nything about foodintolerence - apols if there is loads out there that I haven't seen.

My query is just that I have a 21month who never really has a sold poo. It's been like this for as long as I can remember and he does occassionally have a solid one but I can't really pinpoint what was different to days before. It's worse if he has a lot of sugary food e.g. fruit juice, sweets, raisin. It is rarely watery so not what I'd call diahrroea (or however it's spelt!!).

It isn't an allergy no,immediate reactions and no pain etc. We have spoken to a peadiatrician who said that often until children are 5 their digestive system sin't quite developed.

a friend of mine has said that there are linked bowel
complaints as children grow up with soft poo, I can't find any info just wondered if anyone had any expereience or info?

I am not particluarly wanting go down the line of cutting out foods unless it really makes a difference, he is totally fine and healthy my firend just put a wee concern in my head.

thanks.

have you googled toddler diarrhoea? - it is something they are supposed to grow out of by the age of 5. You can help by limiting high fibre food, fruit juices/squashes, raisins, grapes, low fat foods, sugary foods, etc

thanks! Yes have been googling and become google eyed with all the information! I think the peadiatrician mentioned upping fibre but reducing the things you mention. I'll check that one out. I'm not too concerned but worried about when it comes to toilet training Shock
