Could I be developing an allergy to wine?!?!?!

I have a drink nightly (I know, I know) 2 - 2.5 glass per evening or good quality red wine from about 8pm until about 10:30, so hardly hammering it down. but it seems an increasing occurrence for me to feel slightly 'hungover' in the mornings. I drink very slowly - a glass an hour! I often have a glass of squash too. I am seriously considering ditching my tipple as I do think it is making me feel rougher than it should! I am not underestimating my consumption either. One bottle lasts me three evenings. Has anyone else heard of this?

It could be the hystamines, sp?

Try eliminating the wine and drink a glass of water before bed?

I have a friend who is allergic to sulphites (?) In red wine. You can get sulphite free wine if you look carefully. You could try that.

Or stop drinking red and try champagne instead!

Its probably the every night thing thats the problem, your body probably isnt getting enough chance to full hydrate itself. Do you drink loads of water all day? Or tea or coffee? Both dehydrate you.

Id cut it down to 2-3 times a week.

being hung over is not a sign of allergy, or intolerence. you must be dehydrated, and yr body is not enjoying regular booze!

agree with poster above reg sulphites in red wine (they make the wine keep the nice red colour.
I don't drink much at all, maybe a glass of wine with a meal once a month but try to stick with white wine in situations where I can't read the label, as it makes me feel really sick even if I only had half a glas.

so i should stop my nightly tipple. I want to anyway. It's just a habit I have got into - my down time! It is not exactly a 'hangover' I just feel bug eyed and tired some days. It's not all days but today I do, and I only had 2 glasses (small) of red..
