MIL gave 10mo cmpi milk

As the title says my MIL accidentally gave my 10mo milk- stupid woman thought it would be a good idea to let DD have her spoon to chew on which had just stirred her extra milky cappuccino. I was beside myself when I found out - we are not sure if DD is cmpi or cmpa as waiting for allergy testing.

Anyway since then (Saturday) DD has been farting loads, hiccuping loads and not sleeping - last night she kept screaming in pain and back arching so we co-slept. If this minuscule amount of milk caused this reaction does anyone know how long symptoms will last and if there is anything I can do to help speed it up?

Thanks

Hi, I really sympathise about careless MIL. I suppose we have to give her the benefit of the doubt and believe it was accidental. ( Mine is of one of the not-believing, thinking we're making it up sort and quite capable of doing this deliberately, although meaning well).

I haven't any experience of exposure causing this kind of reaction so not sure about how long it would last for. In my DS (CMPA) you'd see instant hives and he would go pale and quiet - helpful in a way as at least it is instant and you know what it is. With my DS2 we're also awaiting testing and it is difficult to say whether he is reacting or not, as his problem is mainly eczema.

I hope she's well soon though, best thing is to keep a diary of any occurrences like this so that you try to see a pattern. You must keep an open mind though as there could be other culprits as well or instead (easier said than done).
