Link between food and environmental allergies?

Can anyone tell me if environmental allergies are more likely to exist if a baby had suspected dietary intolerances?

Ds2 has constant cold-like syptoms along with swollen, red rimmed eyes with frequent discharge and had always been exceptionally drooly.

We have cats and dogs and a dusty house

I've been wondering this too. My DS has confirmed multiple food allergies, and it was very noticeable how his cough disappeared during Christmas week at his grandparents' house, and reappeared when back home where there are lots of mouldy windows, and dusty clutter everywhere!

Environmental allergies are, as far as I know, more likely in those who also have food allergies but not intolerances as these are different and do not involve the immune system. The 'allergic march' in children usually begins with eczema and food allergies then progresses to asthma and hayfever.

Thank you, interesting.
