1st asthma attack aged 45

yesterday i had my 1st ever asthma attack.... i have only used my inhaler where and when needed recently......yesterday scared the life out of me... i just couldn't stop coughing... vomiting (brought on by the coughing.. i think.. ) and i'm pretty sure i panicked... making it worse... today i have had no energy to do anything... is this normal...??? how long does it take to
get back to normal????

I hope you're feeling better today. If you haven't already done so, you do need to see your GP/asthma nurse, and soon, after an asthma attack, to see if/why your control is slipping and if so, what needs to be done. And for reliable advice about your asthma, Asthma UK's adviceline is free from landlines Mon-Fri 9-5pm.
