I took Jamie to have his bloods done for his RAST this morning. I had told a friend by email last night that we were going. She emailed me back a little while ago to say that if Jamie hasn't had any milk or egg in his diet for the last 3 days the results will come back negative. Is that true?? I don't want to have paid all this money to have these tests done privately and not have been told that I would have to give him these things before the test. I'm confused

well it doesn't match what we were told. We were told the test would work even if they had never eaten the food. There can be a problem with skin prick tests if you've had anti-histamine recently, maybe that's what is confusing her?

Ds had a RAST test for latex which came back positive, I think that as long as you have been exposed at some point your body will have made the antibodies.
