DD has a rash but only on the left hand side of her body!!! Allergy related?

DD has been having allergic reactions to food and antibiotics for 7 weeks and is waiting for an appt at an allergy clinic. She is on ceritizine and has an epipen as she has been having swelling. The last week she has been developing a rash its like bumps under the skin and comes and goes red and itchy. The strange thing is its in little patches all on the left side, she has 2 patches on her left arm, a large patch over most of the left hand side of her torso and a patch on her left thigh.

Does this sound like another allergy? Its very strange.

Can you post a picture of the rash? Could be hives they can start and then move around the body.

The only rash I've heard of that stays on one side of the body is shingles but that is rare in a child.

DS2 had hives, and it moved around his body. It started on one hand, moved up his arm, a few days later it was on his tummy, face, then legs etc. It lasted for a few weeks, but came and went. Never did get to the bottom of it - doctor thought it may have been a reaction to a tummy bug.

my ds is allergic to ceritizine, go back to gp and get a different anti histamine-loratidine(query spelling/name)

I will try and take a picture tomorrow it is difficult to get one cos she doenst stay still and doesnt like me touching the rash. When I say it comes and go the redness comes and go, but the bumps are always there under the skin. I am just concerned as dd has some kind of blood vessel thing going on and the majority of her colour changes that happen with that are on the left, and now this rash is all on the left!!! Its just really strange.

youarekidding she is not to bad except this rash. She had a big flare up Thursday after she had a chicken dinner - Chicken, yorkshire pud, green beans, sweetcorn, peas, gravy so dont know what that was off. She has just started her new antibiotics tonight so fingers crossed no flare up

Well DD has had another reaction today so I think I can add gravy to the list!!! Is that a strange one?

DD still has the rash all down the left side and gp has no idea why its just on the left, she goes to see her immunologist the end of the month so the gp said ask him

How very worrying for you, on top of everything else! Could it be Celery? Very common allergen (on the increase...) and in a lot of stock-cubes/sauces. Did you make the gravy yourself?

Ah yes, and celery is in Heinz Tomato ketchup, and probably others. Didn't you say your DD reacted to some tomato sauces? (can't remember if that was you or not?)
