Violent vomiting for 6 hours...

My baby is 6 1/2 months old. I started weaning her at 4 1/2 months as she is a big girl and appeared to be ready. She is taking to food slowly, appearing to really enjoy it some days, and not wanting it at all on others. Last week, an hour after a feed (only 2 teaspoons), she was violently sick 6 times in the space of 6 hours. Exactly the same happened this week. The only foods in common on these 2 occasions were butternut squash and butter, both of which she's eaten on other occasions and been fine. The other thing in common is that she had a combination of foods mixed together, whereas she has been used to fruit/veg purees with only 1 or 2 items mixed together. Has anyone else experienced this? Any idea if it could be an allergy to something? Or simply a reaction to mixing different foods? Any help much appreciated! Thanks.

or just a random baby thing? Babies are sick a lot. And children, often for no known reason.

If she's had all the ingredients several times before and been fine, its more likely to be a bug. Maybe the food is just too heavy or slightly acidic (or too much?), so, with the bug, its triggering off the vomiting. Is she well otherwise?

Tbh, I would be a little concerned about violent vomiting for 6 hours (non stop?). I'd pop to the GP for a verdict.

Thanks everyone. She seemed absolutely fine apart from the vomiting, which is why I thought it probably wasn't a bug, i.e. vomiting loads, then laughing and smiling before doing it again. She was sick 6 times in 6 hours. I did speak to the GP on the phone (as it was not in surgery hours) - he suggested it was gastroenteritis, but she had no fever or other symptoms so I wasn't so sure... I guess I'll just have to keep monitoring her and see how it goes. Fingers crossed that it was something that has now disappeared...
