Hi all,

DD1 is due to have a blood test tomorrow to see if (as we believe) CMP, lactose or soya intolerance are the cause of her abdo discomfort and chronic constipation.

Unfortunately I was unable to go with her to her last Poo Clinic appointment, when a blood test was arranged (DH took her nuff said!) by the allergy specialist sitting in on the appointment.

They are taking blood for a coeliac screen and total Iga (As well as FBC/ U&E /LFT's and TFT's) SO does she need to have had contact with what believe to be her allergens to establish if they do cause a response in her blood chemistry?? We try to have a completely free diet with the odd accident/ party. Normally it takes 12 -24 hours for her to develop symptoms so do I need to give something tonight??

I have tried to contact the Poo Nurse Friday and today (appointment was last Thursday) but with no joy...

So please any ideas????

Well, for IgE allergy blood tests they don't need to have been exposed to the allergens recently so that's fine. However, the coeliac test will not be accurate if she hasn't been eating gluten for at least a few weeks before the test. You don't mention gluten in your post so I'm assuming she's been eating wheat etc? As long as she has, it'll be fine. Hope it goes well tomorrow.

Thanks freeefrom mum.

She had a rubbish nights sleep with abdo pain Sad but has now had the test, gluten doesn't appear to be a problem for her and she has been haveing a normal diet gluten wise (I think it's more a case of if we're doing it we may as well try everything...).

But if she doesn't show any response to the dairy I don't know what it is.....
