Anyone got any good egg-free recipes (or places to look for them) that they can pass on to a mum who's Ds has just been diagnosed with egg allergy? Many thanks!

do a google, have you thought about using an egg replacer, it is not the same as egg but sure beat many of egg free cakes we could make.

Try these books:

Allergy free cooking for kids by Antoinette Savill

Easy wheat, egg and milk free cooking by Rita Greer

Got mine from Amazon. Even if you don't have to avoid the other foods they exclude, it should give you some ideas. Good luck!

I use Orgran Egg Replace in most normal recipes. You should be able to get it from supermarket or health food shop. Found it is not great for most savoury recipes (meatballs) but goes well in cakes, biscuits, muffins etc. I even use a lot of commercial cake mixes as there are quite a few that don't contain egg and i just add the replacer. Do a google to find other replacers - I can't remember website - but you can also use things like 1/4 cup soy milk, 1/4 cup oil, pureed apple or pureed banana as these are natural replacers. Depends on what job the egg is doing - emulsifying or binding etc. hth

Thank you - that's started me off. I shall go investigating. Might try the pureed banana as Ds is a fan of those. Cheers.
