I wasn't really a sickly kid, was a bit snotty and had tonsils removed and an op on my nose in my early teens but nothing more than that really.

At 16 I was diagnosed with eczema (a zip started it off!) nickel allergy? I do remember a certain soap at the time really making my skin itch too...dont recall the name but I haven't seen it around for years, was a blue and white striped thing.

I cant wear costume jewellery, some jean studs will start it off, belt buckles, watch backs, watch fasteners (I gave up wearing watches years ago, too much hassle).

Since then i've had hayfever, pomphelix (sp?) eczema on my hands and feet (which did clear up with meds), in the mornings I can barely open my eyes because they sting so much and my skin itches all the time...it is driving me mad! My face feels like it's burning.

I used to eat quite a healthy diet, love fruit and veg and i'm generally not fussy at all when it comes to food but I was diagnosed with ibs a couple of years ago so now it seems much of the healthy stuff I used to eat might actually make the ibs worse.

Anyone have any ideas?

You can ask your GP to refer you for allergy testing. They will patch test different things by pricking the skin and putting a droplet on the skin.

I often wake up sneezing due to dust mite allergy. They are microscopic creatures that live in curtains, carpets ,bedding and house dust. It's actually their faeces and not the mite that causes the allergy.

I don't know anything about IBS, sorry.

Yes I agree mothersnacker. I think allergy testing may help. It is how dd was diagnosed with dustmite allergy, pollen allergies, multiple food allergies ect. TheFrogs, allergies can cause tummy problems, snotty probs like you mention as a kid and eczema, seing that you have alot of allergy symptoms I think a doctor should refer you. My be very helpful
