eco balls?

Does anyone use these eco balls? I am thinking about but don't know anyone else that does. Any thoughts?

Sorry! THey are for the washing powder and eliminate the use of normal washing powder and conditioner. you get 3 balls and they last for 1000 washes yes 1000 washes!

Yep we do. I think they are fab! Save loads of money in the long run.

So do they clean you're clothes really well?

yep, i reckon (mind you I don't go in for whites very much, but they do fine on getting the various toddler stains out!!) they are meant to have some sort of ?ionising action that does the cleaning!

Had them and hated them - didn't clean clothes properly and over time the smell of stale sweat retained in the clothes meant that we gave up and switched to Ecover powder which was absolutely fine. The balls are maybe ok for a couple without children whose clothes are really only rinse-dirty as opposed to 2 x boy dirt and dh who works in a hospital and hence gets v hot and sweaty. They are expensive - see if you can find someone who can lend them to you for a trial period. They seemed ok for the first few weeks but time really took it's toll.

I agree - went off the wash balls pretty quickly]
much prefer ecover or similar brand, cos I like the soap smell on freshly laundered clothes, and they get much cleaner

I've heard that they're completely useless !

I use them and am a huge fan! I have done numerous stain trials comparing ecoballs, surcare, persil non-bio and ecover and the ecoballs do as well as the others. (sad - aren;t I? mainly because I didn't think they would work!) The 'stale sweat' smell isn't really sweat not being washed out. It's the smell of wet fabric that hasn't had any perfumes added. When dry, there is no odour.

I've been using ecoballs for nearly a year now and will never go back to soap. I think people just need to get used to the idea of not having things perfumed. Remember that synthetic fragrances can also trigger allergic reactions!

I like my eco balls too. Clothes smelt lovely and fresh when hung out on the line, instead of smelling of chemicals. I use them for everything including my dd's washable nappies, some of them are a bit stained but detergent and vanish doesn't get those stains out either!

do eco balls work any better if you use dolly balls with them?
