Is this chicken pox or an allergy?

DS started with little spots on his legs near his knees a couple of days ago, and now they are on his arms (but not as 'spotty iyswim) but no where else.

They are pretty spaced out and some look like they have pus in them. They are not itchy, he has not had a temp and has been perfectly fine except for a cough that has lingered for about 3 weeks on and off.

The fact that they are not itchy and are not on his torso or face make me think its not chick pox, and the nursery hasn't mentioned any other hids having it.

I know they play with all sorts of weird and wonderful concoctions of things at the nursery so am wondering if its a bit of an allergy, but the pus thing is making me wonder about the pox......

I took him to the doc about his cough yesterday (which is a virus so could be a viral rash? Confused) The doc didnt think it was chick pox but said it was a bit early to tell and as he has been fine in himself he couldnt tell what it was and to keep an eye on it.

Anyone recognise anything that points to an allergy or pox?

Google molluscum contagiosum and see if the pictures look similar.

It could be chicken pox if he's got a mild dose. IIRC my DDs had them a day or two before they got really itchy.
