Ds's nut allergy tests!

DS, 18 months, had skin prick tests done today. (I gave him peanut butter back in December and he reacted badly after only touching it!) Anyway, we had his first paediatric appt today and they did 8 skin prick tests. A control test, histamine then 6 nuts. Apart from the histamine, he didn't react to any of them so the trest was negative. Now the consultant said that he knows he's allergic but they need confirmation, so he took some bloods to test for antibodies. The next step is; if the blood test is positive they'll confirm his allergy, if negative they'll need to do a food intolerance test which sounds quite scary.

I just needed to get this out, and see what others experiences are.

Thanks Smile

He'll be fine. It's scary, but you will cope.I taught a boy with multiple nut allergies, and he's not had a problem since he was first diagnosed.
Try not to panic, but make sure you're taught how to use an Epipen, that he has a tag on him at all times (like an SOS talisman) explaining his allergy and that all of his nearest and dearest know what to do in an emergency IF he's diagnosed.
