Cotton Uniforms

An old topic for this forum, I know, but with summer looming i need to find a 100% cotton school dress in blue pin stripe for my daughter. The problem is even the M&S dresses that say 100% cotton say except for the trim.

I can only assume that the heat of the summer effects my daughters allergies as last summer she turned red raw where ever nylon or similar thread/trim touched her skin.

The poor girl ended up in boys boxers (because the elastic thread in her knickers irritated her legs) and a full 100% cotton t-shirt underneath her school uniform.

Any idea's where I can get one (have tried all the options previously posted).

Alternatively any ideas where I can buy the material...I may have to make one myself.

www.eczemaclothing.com/Department/Organic+Underwear/ Link here to source of girls cotton underwear with no exposed elastic also a cotton full petticoat to go under school dresses although arms would still be exposed so t-shirts might still be better for that. Have you checked links on national eczema society website? Vaguely remember there being some sites with school uniform there.

Sorry I answered you earlier but the mumsnet's server shut down.

Can you saw a cotton ribbon over the trim? or retrim the dress with a cotton thread?

"petit bateau" do some underwears without apparent elastics, and with cotton threads. They are cheaper on french markets if you know somebody there or can use the help of a kind MNers.example

John lewis had a good selection of fabrics/materials.

Find someone who'll make one unless you have to have a set pattern. I made most of dd1's summer dresses and although they're different design to the shops no one's ever questioned them except to ask where I got them from. You can probably get the fabric on ebay if you don't have a local shop that will do it/order it in for you.
