Gave my ds his first does of abidec in months and in minutes his face has flushed really red on the cheeks, made up of smaller dots around the mouth.

Has anyone else encountered this?

(To reassure his breathing is fine, no swelling anywhere, alert and bouncy)

abidec is based on peanut oil, does your DS have an issue with peanuts? My DD used to take it from when she was a baby but when the Drs doubled her dose at around 1yo she started coming out in small patches of execema on her ankles. Within a few days of stopping taking it the execema disappeared. she now takes Dalivit drops daily instead

He's only 6 months so he's never had peanuts before. Allergic to milk, possibly soy.

that's the only thing I could think of but if you have given it to him before without any issues then I'm not sure what might have caused the reaction. My DD is allergic to dairy too

"patients with soya allergy should also avoid abidec multivitamin drops/"

I was advised to avoid abidec when my DD was little. She is allergic to CMP, peanuts and legumes amongst other things. Boots multi-vitamin syrup is a good one though.

He's had it a few times, at around 3 months. He's now 6 months. Seems fine. Guess it's ask the useless GP time.

Ds has soya, peanut, egg and dairy allergies, he has also had reactions to Abidec. I gave it to him before he was tested for allergies and had forgotten all about it. Thanks nellymoo - that would explain it.
