And if so what did you use for a starter? My dd is dairy and soya intolerant and a little one so I'm constantly on the hunt for calorie rich food she can eat...

The only non dairy starters I have seen are soya based.

I used to whizz up Oatly cream with fruit for ds when he couldn't have dairy or soya. Also bird's eye custard powder made with Oatly is nice.

Thank you trixy. I've heard of oatly cream but never seen it anywhere, do you remember where you bought it from?

I always buy it in tesco. I stock up in the big one near me and sometimes can get it with my online shopping.

It's very good, I make potato gratin and all sorts with it.

Right then, my new mission is to find oatly cream. Am thinking buying the yoghurt maker before researching this properly was not my finest decision...

It's usually in the UHT milk aisle.

Yes, I made it in a Lakeland yoghurt maker and it tasted yummy. Unfortunately, I had to use soy yoghurt as a starter. I then tried to make oatly milk yoghurt using probiotic supplements for kids, but I think the bacteria must have snuffed it because, after 8 hours incubation, all I had was some warm, separated oat milk Confused.

Still trying to find a dairy and soy free starter, so will keep watching the thread...
