Hi there
Just after some advise if possible as I have looked all over the net and can't really get a good answer.
My baby is 5 weeks old and the HV suggested he may be lactose intolerant as he screamed when passing wind which was almost every 10 mins and got stomach cramps all the time. His poo was always runny and sometimes frothy.
Have switched to SMA LF and he is a different baby. He has definitely improved and no longer has stomach cramps and doesnt pass wind wind as much.
Problem is he is now constipated and won't drink water very much. Thought about putting small amount of orange juice, sugar etc in the water but as lactose is a sugar, thought he'd get tummy cramps again.
Please can anyone advise if there is anything else I can try.
He has a docs appointment on Thursday to see if we can get the milk on prescription as its so expensive compared to normal formula milk, so wondered if docs are able to prescribe something for constipation as well as it's hard seeing him struggling to go do a poo
