Does anybody have any experience of what hospital allergy clinics do?
We've been referred for DS and have been asked to take a sample of the foods that he is allergic to (bananas, peanuts and hazelnuts) with us.
He's worried about what will happen because the GP said in front of him that they do a sensitization programme and went on to explain what it was - now DS (5) is scared to go.
Thanks.

That was what I thought so I was surprised to be asked to bring the foods with us.
He has already had blood tests and all were negative but he has reacted to the foods since then, the GP thinks that the blood tests were inaccurate. About all they did tell us is that he is allergic to emlar cream, his inner elbow had a lump the size of a satsuma on it.

My daughter had those but ages ago now, there they had a sample of lots of different things all in a fluid so we didn't need to take anything with us, I hadn't thought about skin prick testing.
Thanks.
