Sorry it's a long one, I'm new to the allergies and know how knowledgable MNers are and despite the mildness of DS allergies I know you'll understand. Thanks in advance for reading.

DS has hives reaction on his face. Firstly from ketchup, then he had hayfever this year and gets the hives often. GP said urticaria and gave cetirizine hydrochloride 10mg tablet (was having chlorophenamine 2mg 4x a day). GP said he thinks its from the pollen - this is not from allergy tests just from medical history. Also sctatched his back which came up in welts and said he'll need to use non soap, perfume free products. He prescibed oilatum, double base too.

I told school when he went back and he has the chlorophenamine at school for reaction if needed.

DS has had a letter home this week about joining science club - asked to list any allergies which I did. DS came home today saying they'll have to ring me before he joins. Fair enough. I'm hoping they'll let him join but if he gets hives reaction then it'll have to be reviewed.

BUT tonight - at 4pm he was planting daffodil bulbs for charity for 20 minutes. Was fine etc. Then about 6.30pm he started getting hyper, agitated - he can't stay still then the red sore welts apperaed on his face. (its like very dry and burnt lokking skin) Gave him antihistimine so it will go by tomorrow

My question is - do I say no to science club to be safe?? He has weeks where he's fine and I start to relax and then this happens and I start to get upset. Then I get confused as its not a severe reaction and wonder whether to just let him get on with it - despite the consequences???

Please just be nice and honest about what you'd do and help me make the right decision.
