I am having an allergic reaction to something (I have no idea what). My skin itches, my eyes are puffy and insanely itchy and I was wheezing though this has stopped since I took my inhaler. I have taken some Benedryl as that is all I could get hold of at Tesco's. Does anyone know if Benedryl is similar to Piriton, which is what I usually take for a reaction?

Don't want you to go unanswered but I don't have a clue what to say..! I think rather than posting on MN I would be ringing NHS direct - you will get a quicker and more reliable response. Hope you're feeling better soon.

benedryl is a antihistamine, and so should work for a minor reaction.

what are you reacting to? do you know?

Benedryl will help with the puffy eyes and itching but not really with the wheezing. If you can't control this with your inhaler get yourself to A&E.
