Reaction to IKEA meat balls?!

My DS is allergic to peanuts and cashews. We ate at Ikea at the weekend and about 20 mins later he was coughing and itchy all over. He came out in hives all over his body. Piriton did the trick but it was quite alarming.
Does anyone know what it was in the meal that he could have reacted to? I'm going to get in contact with Ikea to find out exactly what's it eh meatballs and gravy.
Can't believe it would be nuts because there are no warning signs anywhere.

Hi you can buy the meatballs and gravy in their shop - maybe the ingredients would be listed on the back? Just an idea. Thanks.

Try the ikea website. The gravy in the meatballs has milk powder in I recall from packet?

Ikea meatballs have egg in them. Could it be an egg allergy?

I have a packet in the freezer
the ingredients of the meatballs are
pork, water onion, breadcrumbs(wheat flour, water salt and yeast) egg salt white pepper and allspice
also just found a packet of the gravy, ingredients are

vegetable fat
wheat flour
modified starch
flavour enhancer
apple
glucose syrup
onion
stabilise
milk protein
spices including garlic
paprika
anti oxidants

sometimes it's just one of those things and you never find out what. DS has nut and seed allergies. We went to the boat show once at earl court and on the way back DS came out in awful hives, all over his torso. The only thing we could think of was a chocolate icecream he had, but he never had a reaction like that again.

Thanks bruffin that's really helpful.

And thanks to all!
