My ds is dairy intolerant but I am not sure what someone who is allergic to dairy is allergic to. Is bovine gelatine ok?

I would think that would be more related to beef than milk? Not sure.

I think some people can be senstivie to cow products par se - whether its dairy or beef or a bovine product...
but my boy is in the same boat as yours, and has tried fruit jelly, which does have this in.

Alternatively you can buy vegetarian setting agent - most supermarkets do them, or a health food shop...

sorry - and should have said, he had no problems with the jelly!

Does your son haver an allergy to beef? As Heathen says, gelatine is more bovine than dairy...

No my ds is fine with this but we have another child coming to tea who has several allergies and I really don't want to feed him something I shouldn't. I can't see why it shouldn't be OK but thought I'd ask the oracles!
