My son (17 months) is lactose intol and we also try to keep him off squashes. He drinks major amount of orange juice and water mixed.
He has such a temper on him.His age is one factor but wondered if the orange juice concentrate could be a factor-he just loses it and throws whatever is to hand at the time-help!!

orange and orange flavourings def seem to have an effect on some children, easiest way to tell is to cut it out for a while and see if behaviour persists.

We see a nutritionalist as DS2 has lactose intollerance and problems with yeast.
She advised us to use Pineapple juice diluted 50/50 with water.
Apparently the enzymes in the pineapple juice are really good for children.
Orange juice contains silicitates(sp?) which can send children who have intollerances over the edge!

jaysmummy has reminded me if it is a salicitate issue then you may need to consult a nutritionist as some veges etc contain these as well, children who are affected can have dramatic turn arounds once the offending foods are eliminated.

sounds like I am in for a long check list.
I will try the pineapple thing and see if that helps. any ideas which veg have salicitates-I have never heard of it

no personal experience of this but this site is reasonably reliable - check it out somewhere else as it isn't always 100%.
