I'm seeing dd2s consuiltant tomorrow to ask about whether an epipen is appropriate for her egg and CMP allergies.

What should I ask?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you nottirednow. There are some really useful things in there we hadn't thought of. despite me hounding him for this appointment my mind has gone suddenly blank.

He already thinks I'm anxious Grin - and he'd be right!

Thanks both!

The appointment went well and I thought of you all and surprised myself with how tough I was!!

Anyway, the specialist said he didn't know what her next reaction would be like. Its complicated by the fact that because dd1 is allergic I gave dd2 only a tiny smidge of formula mised with breastmilk to which she reacted. And she has never actually had egg, just the skin prick test. But he agreed that to react to such a tiny amount the next reaction could be bad.

He kept saying far too many epipens are given out, that she was too small but that if we lived in the middle of nowhere he would give us one but that because her nursery is in a city it would be easy to get to A and E Hmm

But the main issue was that he thought there would be unlikely to be an adverse impact of epi-pen junior given her weight, so I pushed him to prescribe us one.

So Im pleased really although it feels fairly terrifying but less terrifying than not having one should she have a serious reaction.

Thanks all! I welled up telling my dh about the kindness and practical help on this board. Thanks all !

Off for a stiff drink !
