Eczema children- Do you ever try perfumed stuff accasionally to see if it still effects

I was talking to someone the other month who's child had fairly bad eczema as a baby, and was told they always had to use specialised soaps etc.

Accasionally they would try her with perfumed soaps, and when she was just over 2, her skin stopped reacting to it, she has now not had eczema for 18 months.

I thought I would give it a go with my DTs.

The firt time they flared up almost immediately with eczema, I tried again 3 weeks ago and so far so good, no wczema in sight, nor dry skin.

Has anyone else tried this and been sucsessful (sp?)

eczema often does improve with age. I'm still very careful about perfumed things and I haven't risked biological powder yet but I do now use dove bath things.

DS is 2.5 and I'm so used to using prescription things I can't see any point changing to stuff I have to pay for.

If he had long hair I might feel differently though.
