Diarrhea!

My DS 3 years old. has had persistant diarrhea for a week now. He is other wise fine apart from a heat like rash on his back and tummy. I have called my GP but STILL waiting for a call back. He is eating as normal and has no temp. I think it may be a reaction to somthing but not sure what. He is a real fussy eater, doesn't like bread, potatoes or cereals, last time he was weighed about 3 months ago he had gained very little weight only about 1 lb in 6 months so he is now on the 12th centile. Does anyone else child have these symptoms? It may be nothing but you know what they say about mothers instinct.

i would seriously consider cutting out dairy for a while and see if he improves - often after a tummy bug toddlers become temporarily unable to digest milk products as the enzymes they need have been wiped out and need to flourish again

as he has a history of slow growth i would also consider the possibility of coeliac disease, ask your GP/HV to do the calculation of what height/weight he should be based on parents - my DD had this slow growth problem and with her it was coeliac disease (severe gluten intolerance).

HTH
good luck!
