run by OASIS

"Many of you will already have heard of the ?WISE UP? programme, which has been written by the CENTER FOR ADOPTION SUPPORT AND EDUCATION (CASE). OASIS has invited CASE over from Washington DC to deliver their workshops to adults and children.

"For those of you who have not heard of ?WISE Up?, it is a programme devised to empower adopted children to learn that their story is very personal and theirs to choose to share or not. It teaches them the way to deal with those awkward questions that come from others at school, and also from adults!

While parents are listening to the presentation for the adults, the children will be divided into two age groups 7-9 and 10 ? 12 and will have their own workshops in separate rooms. "

They are running it in London and Birmingham next month

Thanks for that, am v interested in it, but even though my eldest has just turned 8 she is still quite immature in some ways. So will bookmark the page and hope they run it again next year or so.

Looks interesting.

Mumwhereareyou, I don't think they will run it again as they are bringing the trainers over from the USA

You can attend (without your child)if your child is under 7. They are running seminars for parents. Think it will be very useful.

Thanks have just had a look at the dates and typical have a christening on in May that we have to attend (family ). Might be able to make the one in London on the sunday as Dh works saturday, just going to check and see if train runs that earlier as we live some distance.

Don't suppose it will matter that we adopted from the UK as it will still be relevant to us.
