We are one of two families short-listed. Wish us luck, and then tell me to get off my arse and tidy the flat so it doesn't look like a baby accident waiting to happen and a slum.

OH good luck bran, have everything crossed for you, you do know know that this could be the last time your flat will be this tidy!!!

SmugColditz · 09/10/2008 14:45

Oh how exciting ... how old is she?

edam · 09/10/2008 14:45

Wow, hope you get chosen!

bran · 09/10/2008 14:50

We already have a DS cikecaka, hence the extreme hazard (in social worker eyes) for a younger child of toys at floor level.

She's just coming up to 10 months Colditz.

TBH I think it's a bit of a long-shot. She isn't in our local authority and I suspect that they other family is the family that they really want and we are there to prove that they have searched for the best family possible. That happened to us quite a bit when we were waiting for DS.

Am VVVV excited for you and crossing fingers and toes. Bloody nerve wracking isn't it!

Kewcumber · 09/10/2008 16:56

its like being pregnant and being told by Doctor "congrtulations you're pregnant (approved) now you may be pregnant for 9 months or two years and we may tell you now that you're going to be pregnant for 9 months but the month before you're due to give birth we'll change our mind"

Buda · 09/10/2008 17:06

Fingers crossed for you! How exciting and nerve-wracking.

I got very excited for a minute then as we are currently fostering a 10 month little girl, until it dawned on me her case hasn't even got to court yet

Keeping everything crossed for you

LOL at Kewcumber's adoption version of pregnancy. It's so true. And with shortlisting it's like a pregnancy test that hasn't been labelled, so you know that either you or the other family are pregnant but you won't find out until later. And then it might turn out that neither family is, but some other family that you didn't even know was in the running is instead.
