Adoption

Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on adoption.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr - my adoption approval panel date is being moved because I'm fat

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGG!

I'm the same weight as I've been all through the assessment, the same weight as I was when we adopted ds and the same weight as I was last time we were approved. How is it that they have only just noticed 12 days before panel that I am fat!

It's so fecking annoying.

mountain buggies are just so easy to push. and beautifully engineered. and indestructible (i have given mine to my niece & it still looks like new despite living outside ). breezes are quite hard to get hold of though, i'll send you a link next time one comes up on ebay. there must be a stockist somewhere in london though...

pmsl at your secret nappy bag purchase.

bran · 19/08/2008 22:18

I'm not even sure that I like the nappy bag now, it has a sheepskin trim IIRC. I'll have to dig it out and have another look at it.

My previous one was a chinois style from Big Mamma Slings and I gave it away because I couldn't bare for it not to be used (plus I wanted to get one in a different colour). But I don't think they stock them anymore. I must try to channel my interest in changing bags into handbags.

There was a Breeze on ebay recently but it went for well over £200, I'm pretty sure I could get one new for less than £300.

(That's "bear" not "bare" )

congrats bran - have been on holiday so missed this... good luck with a match.

Janni · 23/08/2008 20:31

Congrats from me too!

Let's hear it for magic knickers and let's have a bit more ing for the panel member asking about your child's relationship with God...What's that all about??

giraffescantdancethetango · 23/08/2008 20:45

congrats

PookiePodgeandTubs · 23/08/2008 20:48

Just read through the whole thread, gutted for you and then cheering!
Good news!

JenniPenni · 23/05/2009 14:46

Oh bran I am SO excited for you!!! I have only caught up with this thread now... terrible hey???

We are going donor route and adopting overseas if that's not successful. UK adoption procedure is just too stressful and we've had a very stressful year (hubby op, father died, me in hosp).

How far along are you now in the process? Have you been matched?

BottySpottom · 23/05/2009 14:52

How frustrating, and like you say, why didn't they notice earlier.

Are they saying that, God forbid anything happens to you, they would rather your DS be left an only child than have a sibling for comfort? might be worth sneakily suggesting that!

BottySpottom · 23/05/2009 15:04

OOoop, I'm a bit behind; only read the beginning of the thread. Fantastic news you were accepted

RedLentil · 23/05/2009 15:59

I don't want to steal Bran's thunder, but you might want to take up the story here

BottySpottom · 23/05/2009 16:24

Gosh, I really was behind! Thanks for that. Huge congratulations Bran, your DH and DS

JenniPenni · 25/05/2009 18:35

Fabulous!!! Thanks RedLentil

bran · 29/05/2009 20:11

This is a surprise to see this thread popping up again. All is blissful chez bran (although I'm thinking about doing an AIBU thread about DH ). DD is absolutely adorable, so much so that I have moments of wavering about a third. DD's BM is due to give birth again soon, and 85% of the time I think that the two we have are enough and the other 15% of the time (when DD laughs or when DS and DD actually play together instead of hitting each other and crying) I think another, smaller version of DD would be adorable.

Thanks for all your congrats.
