Difficult anniversary tomorrow - please think of me

As many of you on here know I had a baby when I was a student, and chose to have him adopted immediately - I didn't bring him home from hospital.

Anyway, he was born 18 years ago tomorrow.

I have written to the adoption agency to request a Section 98 Intermediary Service to get in touch with him. Really just to say that I've thought of him constantly over the past 18 years, and that if he chooses to get in touch, I - and the rest of my family - would be delighted.

i have met both my birth parents, but i didn't search until i was into my 20s. When i was a teenager i was much more interested in my boyfriend, my friends and generally having a good time. i didnt really give much thought to my past or my birth family at all

even if your son doesn't get in touch soon, it doesnt mean he wont later

Oh Roisin... I will think about you tomorrow. I hope your son makes contact - if not now, then sometime in the future, when it's the right time for him. FWIW, I think you did an amazingly brave thing 18 years ago.

A friend had a baby boy adopted and he did get in touch in his 20s. So far so good for them - hopefully for you too.

i wish you all the luck long story with my mum but 36 yrs ago social services took my mums ds supposedly untill she found accomodation she was 17 done as they asked went to court to collect her ds to find they had, had him adopted

anyway i started looking for him as mums weren't allowed although law has changed now well 2 yrs ago we found him he has 2 children and e are all very much in touch he talks to my mum twice a week and we speak when we can but have such a bond as i was the one who done the finding

i really hope that you too will have a success story it is wonderful but also very difficult at times too so i wish you all the luck and hope he comes back to you soon i'm glad after 35 yrs my mum has her little boy again
