Does anyone have adopted DC who have siblings who aren't placed with them?

Thanks

Re siblings who don't have the same siblings -I have No idea, my kids are still very confused that their cousins have other cousins who are not my kids cousins.

And when they were younger they couldn't understand that their father was still the father of their adult siblings who didn't live at home any longer. For some reason it was fine for me to still be their mother.

But,on the other hand, SS don't seem to understand that our children can have bio siblings on both sides of their birth family and not just their bio mothers side. And allegedly they are adults Wink

Thanks for all your replies.

I guess it's just starting to hit home that our DC may have brothers/sisters who aren't our DC... and that that may put a different spin on some things, i.e. for example the 'family tree projects' - and be something else we need to think about in terms of arming our DC to deal with questions from others. 'Do you have any brothers and sisters?' must become a much more complicated question for them to answer (although I know it shouldn't be, IYSWIM

In this case there would be (rightly) direct contact between our DC and their sibling (s) and it's made me focus a bit on that particular angle of adoption more over the last few days.

Something to ponder.

Thanks all

Our DS has two older siblings - we have met the one that lives with extended BF, but not the one adopted elsewhere, though we have indirect contact and may have direct contact in the future.

People do ask me about them and I say "his bmum couldn't look after them or him" and, as we already show him a picture in his baby book of her and say "she couldn't look after a baby", this is already part of his story (he's 2)
