I shall not be spilling my love life nor my fwb arrangement though we understand

Kewcumber · 01/04/2014 18:46

I can come and Devora knows where is convenient for me (because its thats whats convenient for her!)

I may be persuaded to spill my love life if you ply me with alcohol... (it will be short)

Kewcumber · 01/04/2014 18:47

cheap is good.

Cheap is good for me too leaves more money to buy Kew alcohol with Grin

I'd love to come. (Though am nervous already!)

I wanna come!!

Meita -you must come, don't be nervous. After 10 mins you will feel like you have known us for years. We are all lovely. Honest.

It's not like it's a Style and beauty threads meet up, where they drink champagne in posh restaurants wear designer clothes and carry £1000 handbags.

Well actually I think I did last time but no one noticed . Or was it you, Kew, I can't remember < scratches head >

It has been suggested to me - by someone more sensible than moi - that it might not be the brightest idea to post when and where actually on the thread (in case Ian Josephs fancies joining us?). So I won't! We're onto PMs, people - or email or texting - whichever you're most comfortable with.

I think I've got this as my confirmed list so far: Kristina, Kew, Hels, trampstamp, namechangesforthehardstuff, Melta, PheasantPlucker, OurMiracle, NoIdeasforUserName, bberry, Polkadotpatty, MrsBW. What about FamiliesShareGerms? If I've missed you out, or included you when you now can't come, please let me know!

otherwise, I'm trying to book a restaurant for 12-13 people. Central London, Saturday night, cheap, good food, not noisy. People, people, this is LONDON. [Said for benefit of visiting yokels.] This is also a swell of opinion pushing for further West, but I think that is difficult for the non-parakeet classes so will stick with W1 or SW1.

Will get back shortly...

You ALWAYS look expensive, Kristina. No idea if you actually are expensive, or just know how to look like it. I, by contrast, can make Prada look like Primark.

The thing is, with such a big group, how do we get to talk to anyone other than the person sitting next to us? I'll have a think about that as well.

KristinaM · 01/04/2014 23:10

Thanks for doing all the organising Devora . Would further west be easier ?

How will I know who I'm meeting? I have no idea what you guys look like!

Report
Devora · 01/04/2014 23:20

You look for the woman with the thousand quid handbag. Surrounded by scruffy knackered acolytes.

Or you text me as you arrive and I'll stand up and wave Smile

Kristina, can we make it a fairly early start? Makes it more likely we can find a quiet table.

Polkadotpatty · 01/04/2014 23:27

Surely we'll all be recognisable because we'll be dressed as our favourite characters from the Muppets? Oh wait, that's a different meet-up... Grin

Miracle makes a good point. Will the group leader hold a golf umbrella in the air at all times, perhaps, to reassure us new folk?

Report
OurMiracle1106 · 01/04/2014 23:59

I will be probably in something modestly majorly showing my cleavage. Dark brown almost black hair. And my outfit will have cost less than 30 quid lol

Devora -yes indeed. We county bumpkins are not used to staying out late.

Surely you will have a big sign saying " mumsnet adoption group " ?

Devora my dear (said kindly) as it escaped your attention that I've NEVER posted the venue on a thread? It was always via PM's. Time and date no problem - venue privately.

I know KristinaM and Devora and don;t much care about the rest of you so I'm alright Jack.

By for the avoidance of doubt People - my photo is on my profile and I'm very recognisable at 5' 9" and will be wearing fishnet and heels

Polkadotpatty · 02/04/2014 10:06

I don't know. What if I text you, you give me a cool appraising glance, and decide against standing up and waving in favour of another slurp of your martini??? I am still in favour of the co-ordinator wearing something subtly identifying, like perhaps this charming piece of headwear...

Kristina is smaller but louder so you can follow the noise if you prefer

Report
Kewcumber · 02/04/2014 10:07

Is that Kristina or Devora that has to wear that?

Report
Kewcumber · 02/04/2014 10:09

Devora - maybe you could arrange some ice breakers exercises and rotating every other person two chairs to the right every 15 minutes. Thats the kind of thing your employer does isn't it - at right on course type things?

Report
Polkadotpatty · 02/04/2014 10:09

Ummmm, well I am far too plebby to be able to identify a thousand quid handbag, so maybe both could wear one? For safety, you understand. Stranger danger, and all that Grin
