Here are some suggested organisations that offer expert advice on adoption.

Today is adoption Sunday - did anyone go to church and did they do anything on adoption today?

No,nothing here. Sorry

Although we did have a very interesting talk about Syria

Hi, yes, we did. We watched the Home For Good campaign video, pledged our support as a church, and 2 couples & 2 women said they felt inspired to explore adoption GrinGrinGrin

Our talk was on Matthew 21:12-17 & we thought about how after Jesus cleansed the temple, there was then room for 'the blind and the lame' for the first time since David's times. It was all about opening our churches to accept & welcome EVERYONE, and then a challenge about how we can open up our lives & homes (adoption being a beautiful example)

Nope, very much about all saints day here, I've not heard of adoption sunday.

LadyBumps · 03/11/2013 16:04

Thanks Kristina, it was a really significant morning. I LOVE to see faith in action, you know, walking the talk!

yes - we also watched the Home for Good campaign video, heard from a member of our Church who is a social worker in the children's and families department about why those statistics are true and why more help is urgently needed. She also shared how young lives can be so dramatically transformed by adoption. We then shared in a communal and open time of prayer. Further info was available to anyone who wanted to find out more about fostering or adoption.

We have quite a number of links with fostering and adoption in our Church family - social workers, foster carers, foster children, adoptees etc... and I also have a family background in it too with my parents fostering (respite and short-term) for years before they adopted my youngest sibling. Other members of our family have also been involved in fostering from emergency care right through to long-term.

Was truly wonderful to see it getting such a public airing so to speak and to know that approx 200 other Churches across the UK were sharing the same story. Praying it makes a difference and more people come forward.

Nope, nothing about adoption. We had a sermon on how Jesus was turning the established order upside down and lots of people don't like it.

I think this is only the second year they have done it, the films are good.

Nothing at my church, except me announcing that DD's adoption order has come through and inviting everyone to her dedication Grin

PenguinBear · 03/11/2013 20:20

No nothing mentioned at our church this morning.

Italian, the home for good organisation was what i mentioned in my thread about Rainbows. I was hoping, because they were involved in this they would be more sympathetic to our story.
Although I haven't heard back from the Rainbow leader!

Congratulations Maikayat !
