Hi I am a newbie and only just started this journey, officially made the call last week.

Just interested how may other newbies are out there who are still in the early stages. I keep coming across people and recognising names. Anyone want to let on what stage they are at?

Hey newbies (and not-so-newbies-anymore-yay). I'm about half way through stage 2 and have lurked for a little while. You all seem such lovely people that now we have a tentative date for panel in June I wanted to say hello. Have been too overwhelmed I think to do so before...So, hello!

Happiestinwellybobs · 10/04/2014 19:06

Hello and welcome Pickles :). Not long until June!

namechangesforthehardstuff · 10/04/2014 19:53

Well yes Kristina - actually it's full of that: 'namechanges keeps the house clean and well presented' 'Mr namechanges is redecorating the spare room'. I will eat my hat if Mr namechanges redecorates the spare room. Grin

namechangesforthehardstuff · 10/04/2014 19:54

And welcome Pickles. Smile

Italiangreyhound · 11/04/2014 01:04

Hi all, got some amazing news today. We have been chosen for a lovely, beautiful baby boy!! We meet his social worker next week and then matching panel has been scheduled in for end of May. I'm too scared to tell anyone in real life in case they phone to say they made a mistake or take one look at my pile of ironing and decide I am slovenly and don't deserve such a beautiful child. But Yay!!!

KeepCalmAndEatACookie · 11/04/2014 16:32

Hey y'all! I'm a total newbie to Mumsnet as well as to adoption. My husband and I are just starting the adoption process. We had our first meeting with our sw yesterday and have attended an info day as well. We have the registration of interest forms to complete and post for the 23rd of April. 3 days in May for the full day classes also booked. It is moving fast! I sure could use some support through this process and a place to gather information. I hope I can be helpful too!

KeepCalmAndEatACookie · 11/04/2014 16:34

Omg Prumarth! Keeping my fingers crossed!

DaffodilDandy · 11/04/2014 16:47

Whoop, whoop, Pru! You must be on cloud nine! I am so pleased for you!

Hello to Pickles and Keep!

Pickles2go · 11/04/2014 16:56

Congratulations Pru what wonderful, lovely, happy news! Have everything crossed for you!

Hello Keep - I'm slightly ahead of you on this roller coaster of an exciting journey (hopefully about 2 months to panel) but also new to mumsnet, and thanks for the warm welcome Daffodil, Italian, Name and Happiest!

prumarth · 11/04/2014 16:59

Thanks myfeet!! Yes, I am so glad I'm not doing up the kitchen! What on earth was I thinking!!

KeepCalmAndEatACookie · 12/04/2014 21:13

We just scheduled our second sw meeting and a date to get in our registration of interest which is 29 April. We also have 3 full day parenting meetings scheduled in May. The two months of stage one will go fast. One thing I should add is that we already have a child in mind. Our sw is her matcher and will be doing this throughout both stages. So once we make it to panel we hope to have her fairly quickly. She is a 6 nearly 7 year old foster child at the school where I teach. I'm trying to not get too excited but I can't help it! I have so many silly things zinging through my mind that are not allowing me to sleep so I think I need to eat more cookies!

Choccyjules · 13/04/2014 17:13

I don't know, I go away for a week and Mumsnet lock me out (wonder what excitement I missed) and lots of new people pop in, hurray! hello keep and pickles

closer it's all going very slowly, frankly. I know, no rush. But Baby was 4 months when we first got CPR and they change fast!

In other news...it's Panel tomorrow!

Italiangreyhound · 13/04/2014 19:17

Pru WONDERFUL so very pleased for you Wink Smile Grin

This is a lovely place for lovely news.

KeepCalmAndEatACookie FABULOUS Thanks

Great news pru, hooray!

Best of luck for panel choccy - linking to having the child home seems to take forever for lots of people, I wonder why? Can totally understand why you want to get on with it, you can almost see them changing in front of your eyes at that age. I am impatient already and we're not even approved yet!

Hi to all the new newbies, looking forward to hearing how everyone is getting on.

64x32x24 · 13/04/2014 20:08
