Is there anyone else excited to start their PhD studies this October?

What are you doing to prepare over the summer? I've handed in my notice at my job and I've got a holiday planned, and a reading list to work through

Handed in my notice, too nervous to book a holiday. I've not done any reading or even put together a reading list!

Work is hectic and I've been trying to finish the work at hand and resist them giving me more work.

Whats on your reading list?

I may have been to eager to say its a reading list, more like 3 books on my bedside table haha. All about social class and community, I'm doing a social science PhD. What subject area will you be studying?

Mine is in public policy. What kind of holiday have you booked?

Hello, me too! I’m still working until the end of September so have not managed to get much done at all. I did my MA in a very similar area so I have done at least some reading although it was a while ago now!
I’m feeling nervous about it all, especially juggling young children while doing it full time. But excited to start too.
