EE work on Mat leave

Hi there, I am going on maternity leave next month until September but am currently an EE for 1 FE college and another HEI. It’s a nice boost of income for a few days of work so I would like to continue it, however I don’t know if this affects my maternity pay. Does anyone have any experience of this? I also read about being able to do self-employed work whilst on Mat leave and I’ve previously been paid my fee as expenses directly to my bank account but I am working on behalf of my institution?
Many thanks

If you are already employed by them then you can earn from the other company and have different maternity leave periods from both employers. Are you actually employed or registered as self-employed for the other jobs?

EE work is always self employed surely? I've never been put on PAYE and taxed etc, always just get the lump (tiny) sum paid each year. And sometimes had to invoice for it.

It's always been emphasied to me that EE work is self-employed (e.g., you need to self-assessment if it sums to more than £1000), so I don't think you're doing it on behalf of your institution.
