Interview but no teaching component?

Posted this on Staffroom but as yet no response...
I've been invited for interview for a part-time (0.5) teaching role - Year 6, mat leave cover. Ideal in terms of hours as I'm planning on doing a part-Time MSc.
Only thing is... they have literally just invited me for interview and not asked me to teach at all? All of the other class teacher interviews I have attended in my career have asked me to do at least 20 mins teaching in the class I would be based in followed by an interview.
Thoughts please?

This section is for staff in universities so you'll probably have more useful advice on your other thread. Best of luck with the interview though, hope it goes well.

Former school teacher here. If you are worried it’s a mistake drop the school an email. It is unusual.

Could it be e that they are interviewing to shortlist? Then inviting the shortlisted candidates back to teach at a later date? Only thing I can think of...I certainly wouldn't appoint anyone until I'd seen them teach (more about their rapport/interactions with the children than the actual lesson in all fairness).

Very brave HT to simply go by interview!

Although,,.
assuming it’s for a September start, their options are limited. At this point they may just be looking for someone with a pulse!

it’s unusual though. I would email and ask.
