Paper revisions while on maternity leave

Hi, I am currently on maternity leave and have had a paper back from peer review. How do mums manage with paper revisions when on maternity? I still have months before I'm due back and don't want to delay the paper.. is this something I could arrange a KIT day to work on? It's several hours work so I'm not particularly wanting to work on it unpaid if I can avoid!

possibly KIT day, or rely on your co-authors to do the edits if you don't want to work whilst on mat leave. The senior author shod be able to make a recommendation re this, unless it is you (in which case, decide whether you want to do or delegate)

I got so fed up with this on maternity leave (from PhD so no payment to consider) that I swapped and gave my co-author first authorship in exchange for dealing with the last revisions/proofs.

To this day - whenever I see that paper listed I grind my teeth with regret. I wish had just manned up and got on with it.

I just took time off in lieu during my first year back. So many nursery illnesses, vaccination appointments etc. It was nice to feel like I was due some time so didn’t worry about taking annual leave

I'd ask your manager if you can do it as a KIT day.

I just did it. It was not fun, but I had no co authors to farm it out to and wanted to proceed to publication.

I just did it. The paper will drive your career and really yoh will benefit from it the most. This assumes you are first or last author (if science - not sure in other fields). If you are a middle author I wouldn’t do it
