Have found some (very) old payslips from when I first started lecturing (1988).

It details a deductions called 'TSA 2'.

Is anyone old enough to know what this stands for?

Teachers' Superannuation (Miscellaneous Provisions) (No. 2) Regulations (1988)?

Were you in a polytechnic/college at the time (i.e. a post-92 now)?

I started work in 1996 and am not sure to be honest (I am just taking a punt at the acronym) but maybe:

Travel and Subsistence Allowance
Tax Sheltered Account (seems unlikely though)
