HE cost of living rises ?

Does anyone know if and when us working in universities may get a cost of living payrise? The trade union website says there was back and forth on the proposal and a final offer of 3% was made across board (higher for those on lower bands). Do we know yet if this is actually going to happen and if so when? I mean 3% is nothing against what’s going on with inflation but I’d still like to know - 1) if it is actually happening and 3) if so when?

The final offer was 3.18%, I believe; my university is implementing it in the August payroll.

Ah that’s very useful to know. My own searching shows that the final offer was not agreed upon when it went back to UCU - but perhaps a resolution was reached then - as you’re getting it which is great. Hope mine is going to implement it too…..

Often universities implement the offer that is on the table at this point in the year (i.e. start of new financial year) even if it is not accepted by UCU.

It hasn’t been accepted by the Unions but my Uni is paying it regardless from August.

Yep we’ve been told now - I’m getting a 3%. And it’s tapered from 3.1% through to 9% on spine points towards the starting ends of the scale till point 20.
