Anyone tutored secondary age?

I'm a lecturer but currently on maternity leave.

My subject is taught in secondary schools, so I'm considering online tutoring as a way to make a little bit of money (and a chance to use that part of my brain again!)

Has anyone else done this? Was it okay, or is teaching under 18s harder than I imagine?

How familiar are you with current GCSE specifications etc?

I've read the specifications and looked at some past papers and examiners' reports, but I've never taught or marked them myself.

I've just started tutoring a friend's year 8, but that's much more casual than preparing someone for exams.
