I currently work as a health care assistant in a hospital , have been here 4 years.
Previously I worked in the community as a support worker and gained level 3 in h&s care.
Prior to that (looping ago) I qualified as a nursery nurse (20 year ago) so lost qualification!
I'm looking into nursing but couldn't do it full time as I need to earn a wage.
Also would my nvq get me any credits for the course?

Hi OP, I don't think you're NVQ would enable you to bypass any of the course but it would certainly be viewed favourably in support your application. Apologies I trained quite some time ago now so I'm not 100% up to date in all the newer entry routes but would a nursing apprenticeship/associate course be worth considering? More and more trusts are using these as a route to qualifying and my understanding is that you get a wage while training. Would be worth having a look on NHS jobs, or contacting your local hospital (go for one of the Teaching hospitals rather than a district general initially)
