TEDEd - anyone involved with this?

Has anyone collaborated with TEDEd and has any feedback on the experience? I would be particularly interested to know if you did work for them that was never published, or if you did work that was substantially edited, or if your teaching ideas had to fit a very specific brief.

It sounds interesting in principle, but I don't want to spend ages on work that never benefits anyone (including me, as it is not a paid job!).

The videos are for everyone. I am not sure what their particular demographic is for viewers.

I am an academic, but again I am not sure who they invite to create content. Apparently the collaborate with around 800 educators.

I would be wary of anything where you don’t have control over the dissemination, let alone the editing. If you’re not getting paid either, I struggle to see the attraction. If you’re interested in open access education, perhaps worth seeing if there are any MOOCS at your own institution that you could contribute to.

OK, i see it’s the big TED brand. So they should know what they’re doing. Funnily enough I remember now I know of someone who did this alongside a popular science book of his research. I think it worked well to cross refer people to his work. It certainly looks legitimate, but whether it’s worth the effort i think depends what you’d get out of it. If not money, then what? More readers of your work? More students? To answer your original question, I’d define the parameters of what I want the framework to be and tell them what your terms are. After all, you’ve got nothing to lose.

It looks very interesting. I would really enjoy doing it and would be happy to do it for free.i think the opportunity to develop educational material for a wide audience would be great.
