Mendeley not inserting citations into Word?

Hi,
I have Mendeley and use it as my library, and am currently trying to write a case report but can't get the citations to install into Word. I have uninstalled and re-installed and it all looks correct, but when I click to insert the citation nothing appears. Does anyone have any suggestions, or other library/reference software that would be a good alternative?

I'm starting to get stressed now, I've wasted hours today trying to fox this

Sorry I haven't a clue. Have you googled for your problem? I hate Mendeley, have never got it to work.

After hours fiddling and searching Google I have abandoned it and switch the references I need into Zotero. It's working fine and seems easy to use.
I think maybe Mendeley doesn't like the newest version if word

Sorry for slowness but I have an issue now with the latest version of Word too (agh). It's fine at work but not on my home PC. It's the 365 version and a known issue apparently.
