Tomorrow I start my new job. It's an 2 year FTC Fellowship so it is encumbant on me to get funding. I have been doing some homework on reading up on recent research but any of you folks have experience of seeking out and getting grant funding. It is a STEM subject for reference.

I don't know what FTC fellowships are, but for STEM the best thing is to sign up for Research Professional. You can input your search terms (early career, or physics, whatever) and it tells you all upcoming grant deadlines for the next 18 month. Also tells you useful information about the process.
