EdD applications

Hi
I'm currently looking at universities to begin p-t EdD in 2017, and have seen two programmes that I like the look of. But as I'm new to this level of study, I have no idea if I'm allowed to make two applications to two different institutions at the same time. Does anyone know?

Many thanks.

Yes, that's quite normal at Doctoral level.

It's normal, but be honest with your potential supervisors if you're developing a proposal with them. (And don't do what potential supervisees of mine have done, get me to help them write a proposal, which they then use to apply to the other institution. We do find out these things!).

Thanks for the head up. I'm in the process of putting together an outline for one supervisor, so will bear what you said in mind.

Yes, and it could even give you a bargaining chip. When I applied for mine, they put me out of my misery much earlier because they knew I'd applied elsewhere. Supervisors might also offer more help crafting a proposal if they want to secure you and know you might go elsewhere.

Do be honest all the way. If you find yourself leaning towards one, don't waste the time of the other any more with revisions on your proposal, applications to scholarships, etc.
