Has anyone took their GCSE English/Maths whilst doing their degree at uni? Is it manageable? If I start one of the subjects in September (part-time), I will be in my third year so it's dissertation time - I study History with English Lit. I've had a look at a provisional timetable for next year and it seems pretty easy; only two modules per semester + dissertation!

In 2013, I did a foundation year to gain entry into my degree: I had to do Level 2 Maths and English due to my grades when I did the subjects at school (I got a D and E). I never got told that these Level 2 subjects I had to take, don't actually mean anything outside of the university as they are 'in-house' qualifications! I found this out today and I'm fuming. Angry

Sorry, I know I'm being a pedant, but it's "taken" not "took." If you're aiming to be a teacher, you might want to make sure your grammar is impeccable, particularly as you're studying EngLit.

I'm dyslexic so my grammar skills aren't that great, not only in writing but in speech too! I wasn't planning on becoming a teacher, I chose English Lit because I was under the impression that I had to do a combined studies degree but that wasn't actually the case.
