I’m really sad about it. To the point I’m questioning why I am so sad. It makes me want to leave.

We’ve worked together in the same team. He’s seen me get married, have a child etc. We’ve shared so many laughs and banter. The team isn’t the same and the manager I’m left with isn’t the same. I feel like I’m mourning. Mourning the work environment that once was. I hate change. Especially change that isn’t for the good.

How do I get through it? I’ve never worked with someone for this long before.

This happened to me as well. My work friend left for a much better role and work was just weird. I used to really enjoy the banter and we would have a laugh while always getting our work done. We did actually work really well together. I actually ended up leaving after a while myself.

Isn't it weird how everything can change when just one person leaves? I've seen the opposite happen, too, when the atmosphere lightens when someone goes and suddenly it's a great place to work.

Hi @Tarsaurus i know how you feel, it's like they become the work family. We probably spend as much time with them as we do our own family x

You'll get over it just like when you left school. Concentrate on your family and husband as they're your constant not some man from work.
